Canadian Digital Service
Brian Hendrick is a service design specialist with a passion for public service innovation that improves peoples’ lives and enables government to operate more efficiently. Brian’s career began in the UK after he completed an MSc. Philosophy and Public Policy degree at the London School of Economics, where he focused his studies on digital policy and the potential technology has to improve the relationship between citizens and the state. He was able to apply his theoretical studies into practice by working in various digital delivery teams within the UK Government, including the Government Digital Service (GDS), the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC), and the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). Following his experience within the UK government Brian ventured into the private sector, applying his service design skills within the realm of big data at News UK to help implement General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) policies to improve customer experience whilst ensuring compliance.
After 5 years in the UK, Brian decided to move back and serve his home country of Canada. He is currently helping improve peoples’ experience interacting with public services in Canada through working as a Senior Service Designer at the Canadian Digital Service (CDS). When Brian is not busy trying to make the world a better place, he enjoys listening to all forms of music and creating art as an amateur printmaker.
