What to expect?

What can a game of Go teach us about the future of AI and design? Join us for a 1-hour presentation and Q&A session, where we will explore how generative AI can transform the work of designers and create new possibilities for human-AI collaboration.

In 2016, Lee Sedol, a legendary Go player, faced AlphaGo, a deep learning system by Google’s DeepMind. Go is a game estimated to be over 2,500 years old that requires intuition and creativity, which are still hard to replicate by AI. After losing three games, Lee Sedol made a stunning comeback with a move that shocked everyone, including AlphaGo. It was a wedge play in the center of the board, dubbed “God’s Touch.” It revealed a weakness in the AI’s logic and showed the power of human ingenuity. Humanity ended up losing 4 to 1. But, his move inspired us to rethink how we can leverage AI to enhance our design capabilities and outcomes. We will show you how human language and associative memory networks can enable human-centered AI approaches, fostering human participation and integration in the evolution of artificial intelligence.
